Final Rocket Booster Segments for Artemis III Shipped to Florida

Northrop Grumman has initiated the transport of the final eight solid rocket booster segments for NASA's SLS rocket, which will power the Artemis III mission. The critical components left Utah via train on June 2 and are headed to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

The segments are scheduled to be stacked this summer as part of the preparations for the mission, currently targeted for 2027. Despite some scheduling and spacecraft uncertainties, the hardware delivery marks a vital milestone in NASA's broader campaign to return humanity to the Moon.
