iPhone Ultra to Launch With Extremely Limited Supply
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says Apple's first foldable iPhone will ship in very small volumes, echoing the iPhone X launch.
Apple's long-rumored foldable "iPhone Ultra" is expected to debut in September with a 5.5-inch outer display and 7.8-inch inner screen, priced between $2,300 and $2,500, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Kuo's supply chain survey indicates only 0.5–1 million units will ship in Q3 2026, about 10% of total 2H26 foldable iPhone shipments (7–8 million units), and far below the estimated 20–22 million iPhone 18 Pro/Pro Max units shipping in the same quarter. This means the device could be extremely hard to find at launch and may even ship slightly later than announced.
