Sealed Super Mario Bros. Sells for Record $3 Million

A sealed first-run copy doubled the previous auction record at Heritage Auctions.

A sealed copy of Super Mario Bros. has sold at Heritage Auctions for a record $3 million, crushing the previous $2 million record set in 2021. Heritage says it's the earliest known sealed copy in existence, set apart by an early glossy seal sticker that was discontinued shortly after this second print run.

Graded 9.6 A++ by Professional Sports Authenticator, the sale shows how vintage game prices keep climbing — the same title fetched just $114,000 back in 2020.
