Trump Administration Lifts Export Controls on Anthropic's Mythos and Fable Models
The US Commerce Department has removed the licensing requirement that forced Anthropic to pull public access to its two most advanced AI models.
The US government has lifted a rule requiring Anthropic to obtain a license before exporting its Mythos and Fable models, a restriction that had effectively cut off public access to what are widely regarded as the most advanced AI models to date. The products were added to the export-restricted list on June 12, but complying at scale proved impractical, forcing Anthropic to end public access.
The company said it would begin restoring access on Wednesday, July 1, after weeks of negotiations. As part of the deal, Anthropic agreed to proactively detect security risks and work with the government
